The Irish border is firmly in the news with Brexit but the counties of Fermanagh in Northern Ireland and Cavan in Ireland are the counties of numerous lakes and no where better visible than at the Lough Erne Golf Resort. Situated on its own peninsula surrounded by Castlehume Lough on the one side and the massive Lough Erne on the other, the recent edition to the Irish golf crown has already won many accolades. Due to its peninsula setting it was ideal to host the G8 summit when Obama, Cameron, Merkel, Putin and co descended onto Fermanagh to decide on world matters.
Lough Erne Championship golf, designed by Nick Faldo and opened by both Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington in a head to head match, is a magnificent golf course. Water is the dominant force on this golf course with lakes and streams acting as deterrent for any heroics. The hotel where a roaring fire welcomes you overlooks Castlehume Lough and is as cosy as only Irish hotels can be.
We combine this fabulous resort with a firm favourite amongst Irish golfers with the Slieve Russell Hotel. Designed by Paddy Merrigan and often heralded by the recently deceased Christy O'Connor Jr as a course he never got bored of and inspired him in his designs, this lush parkland course with 50 acres of lakes to contend with is a treat to play.
For this event, members will be required to fly into Dublin where a transfer of approx 2 hours to Lough Erne awaits.
