Former sports editor at the Evening Express in Aberdeen where he started work in 1979.

Took on the role of golf writer and contributed to the Green Final over 25 years ago and still contributes to the Evening Express and Press and Journal newspapers - which in their day had a combined daily circulation of more than 200,000 newspapers. 

Has reported on The Open and other European Tour events and fortunate to have also developed a special affinity with North-east of Scotland clubs at grass-roots level.

Life member at Peterculter Golf Club where he has been gents captain twice.
